Ride-alongs with UCFPD officers
Ride-alongs are provided to give both sworn and civilian members of the community a behind-the-scenes look into what UCF police officers do on a daily basis. These rides will last approximately four hours, and can be requested once per year per person.
Because of the security of a police department, ride-along participants must undergo a thorough background check, along with completing a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) training portal online before joining an officer on the road.
While free, this process is extensive and time-consuming, meaning those wishing to partake in a ride-along should plan accordingly and schedule these meetings far in advance. Clearance for a ride-along can take up to 30 days to be approved.
Please note, ride-alongs do not satisfy the requirements for community service hours.
To request a ride-along, please fill out the form below. Once submitted, a confirmation email will be sent to you to let you know UCFPD received your request. Shortly after, an officer will reach out via email with additional paperwork needed to fulfill the CJIS training.
