A Reminder to Keep Safety Top of Mind

Posted February 8, 2018

As the semester moves forward, it can be easy to become overwhelmed by academic, social and personal responsibilities. However, it's critical to never neglect your personal safety and well-being.

The UCF Police Department reminds you to be vigilant.

It's simple: If you see something, say something. http://ow.ly/SNkO30ieSUD

Call 911, or contact UCFPD via our non-emergency line, 407-823-5555. UCFPD officers patrol campus 24/7, 365 days a year, and our dispatchers also are always available to help.

We recommend some personal safety measures that can be easily incorporated into your everyday routine:

-Continuously be aware of your surroundings, and follow the buddy system when possible. Especially at night, walk with purpose and avoid distractions.

-Use smart judgement. If something sounds too good, too ridiculous, or too sketchy to be true, it probably is.

-Be mindful about money. Regularly keep an eye on your bank accounts, and never give money to an unknown or untrusted source.

-Remember to always keep your doors and windows locked, even when you are home. Know who is at your door before you open it. Don't post personal information such as your address or when you will or won't be home on social media.

UCFPD has your back. We ask that you look out for yourself and each other as we all work together to keep UCF safe.
