Campus Awareness: Home Invasion Near UCF

Posted March 22, 2016

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office earlier this morning responded to a report of an armed home invasion robbery at the Tivoli Apartments across the street from UCF.

Two suspects entered the victim’s unlocked apartment around 12:30 a.m. They pointed a gun at him, demanded money and then left.

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation. Based upon the circumstances, UCFPD does not believe there to be an imminent threat to the UCF community.

However, we remind you to take simple precautions to stay safe.

Always be vigilant about your surroundings. When possible, travel in groups, especially at night. It’s also important to keep your cell phone and car keys handy if you are walking alone at night.

Keep the doors and windows of your home locked, even if you’re inside. Double check that everything is locked before you go to sleep or leave your home.

If you see activity that seems suspicious, say something. Contact UCFPD at 407-823-5555 or dial 911 if you are witnessing a crime in progress.
