Campus Awareness: Aggravated Battery Near Campus

The UCF Police Department and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an aggravated battery at the Marquee apartments around 11 p.m. Thursday.

UCFPD officers were in the area across the street from UCF for a traffic stop when they were notified of a shooting inside the complex’s parking garage.

Officers utilized their individual first aid kits, or IFAKs, to provide life-saving aid to the victim. The victim, who is not a UCF student, was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition.

Based upon the circumstances, UCFPD does not believe there to be an imminent threat to the UCF community.
