BA I Incident Update

Posted March 1, 2018

The UCF Police Department thanks the campus community for its cooperation and support during the Feb. 28 incident at Business Administration I.

UCFPD has identified the two people involved -- one who interrupted class and threw powder into the air and another who recorded the disturbance. The powder was identified as non-toxic, and nobody was injured.

Those involved indicated that their actions were a joke and that they didn’t mean to cause any harm.

We are not amused, especially in light of heightened concerns about safety. It should go without saying that pranks and stunts that create fear and panic are unacceptable.

UCFPD reminds you that we are 100 percent committed to your personal safety and well-being.

We ask you to be vigilant and to report suspicious activity when you see it, and we will continue to patrol UCF 24/7 to keep our campus community safe.

UCFPD can be reached by calling 911 for emergencies or 407-823-5555 for non-emergencies.

You also can report information about crimes anonymously and be eligible for a reward by calling CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS or leaving a tip online at https://crimeline.org/.
