Welcome from UCFPD

Posted August 21, 2018

It is my privilege to serve as UCF's Chief of Police and lead the campus safety and security initiatives that are so critical to our university's mission.

The past four years serving as one of UCFPD's deputy chiefs, along with the 25 preceding years at the Orlando Police Department, have prepared me well for this role. The safety of everyone at UCF is my priority.

Transparency and communication are important to me. Expect to receive updates from UCFPD in the event of campus crimes or emergencies. I'll also be sharing information and engaging with the community via Twitter: https://twitter.com/UCFChiefMetzger.

My goal is for UCFPD to be the most progressive, innovative and professional campus police department in the country.

My hope is that all Knights will view UCFPD as a resource for support. Our officers are well-trained and well-equipped, and most importantly, they're here because they care.

We ask that you help us keep you safe by never hesitating to report suspicious activity. When in doubt, call us out by dialing 911 in emergencies or 407-823-5555 for non-emergencies.

On behalf of UCFPD, you have our best wishes for a safe, successful fall semester.
