UCFPD Increasing DUI Enforcement Friday, March 27

Posted March 27, 2015

UCF Police will increase DUI enforcement tonight in order to help get drunk drivers off the road.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office blood alcohol testing trailer will be stationed on North Orion Boulevard near Bright House Networks Stadium.

Drivers suspected of being under the influence could be pulled over by police and asked to complete a roadside sobriety test. Those who fail the test will be taken to the trailer for a breath sample and then, if they fail that test, transported to the Orange County Jail.

There is no excuse for driving while impaired.

If your plans involve drinking, do so responsibly. Moderation and keeping an eye on your drink are key. Don't leave your drink unattended, and never accept drinks from people you don't know or trust.

Make arrangements to get home safely before you go out. Elect a trusted friend to be a sober designated driver, or plan on taking a cab.

Never put lives at risk by getting behind the wheel if you’ve consumed alcohol, and don’t let your friends make that mistake.

Make responsible choices that help to keep you and your fellow Knights safe.
