The UCF Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify a man suspected of burglary and theft inside the UCF Performing Arts Center.
The crime took place between 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and 12:30 a.m. Thursday. The stolen items-- a projector, a wireless access point and an American flag-- were reported to police around 9 a.m. Thursday.
The suspect was captured on surveillance video and was described by witnesses as a tall, white, college-aged man with dark hair.
He identified himself to witnesses as “Thomas.” He smelled strongly of cigarettes and also was seen smoking near the building, witnesses say.
He left the H parking lot near the Performing Arts Center in a dark gray 4-door car that could have been a Dodge Charger. The car had a small red symbol of the bottom right section of the grill.
A screen capture of the suspect is available here.
UCFPD asks anyone who recognizes this man or has any other information to call 407-823-5555.
