*UCF Alert* Suspicious Incident on Campus

*UCF Alert* A suspicious incident was reported on campus around 1:40 a.m. near Gemini Blvd. North and Alafaya Trail, in the parking lot of the Sigma Chi fraternity house.

A man leaving the house and approaching the parking lot encountered a burglary in progress. The man approached the suspect, a struggle ensued, and the suspect pulled out a pocketknife before fleeing the scene.

The victim sustained minor injuries. At this time, there is no other known impact to campus.

UCFPD established a perimeter and K-9s assisted with a search, but we were unable to locate the suspect. The suspect is described as a dark-skinned male, at least 6-feet tall, in his mid 20s, with short, wavy hair, and wearing a white shirt, jeans and black shoes.

We’re alerting you to this situation to make you aware of the extra police activity on campus and to remind you to stay aware of your surroundings. If you have any information about what took place, please contact UCFPD immediately.
