With the start of the Summer B semester, the UCF Police Department reminds you keep safety top of mind.
For many new students, it may be the first time away from home or in a community like UCF. UCF Police officers patrol campus 24/7 in an effort to keep everyone safe, but it’s also important to take precautions to protect yourself.
Use smart judgment. If something sounds too good or too ridiculous to be true, it probably is.
Trust your gut. If a situation seems off, say something about it. Blue light phones located across campus are connected to police dispatchers, and UCFPD also can be reached by calling 911.
Stay aware of your surroundings, especially at night. UCFPD offers SEPS, a safe, free buddy system for navigating campus between 7 p.m. and 1 a.m. A safe escort can be reached by calling 407-823-2424.
Remember that UCFPD is here for you. Never be afraid to call for help if you need it.
