Expect loud noises and campus closures Friday as UCF conducts testing to prepare for a Homecoming fireworks display next month.
Fireworks testing is scheduled to start around 9 a.m. Friday, and those near Garage D and Memory Mall are likely to see or hear the fireworks.
To accommodate the testing, Garage D and a few designated rows of Lot D2 will close at 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8. Vehicles in those areas must be removed by that time, or they will be subject to towing. The garage will remain closed until noon Friday.
Additional on-campus parking will be available Friday at the Softball Stadium, with a shuttle service provided from there to the Health and Public Affairs shuttle stop in Lot C1.
A portion of Gemini Boulevard between North Orion Boulevard and East Plaza Drive also will be closed from 8:45 to 10 a.m. to accommodate the testing.
If you have questions about Homecoming or the fireworks event, please call the Office of Student Involvement at 407-823-6471.
