Holiday Safety Reminders from UCFPD

Posted December 6, 2018

The UCF Police Department reminds you to stay vigilant over the holiday season.

Whether your plans have you at UCF or elsewhere, it's important to be aware of your surroundings at all times.

If you'll be away from UCF during the break, remember to take any valuables with you. Before you leave your home or office, ensure all doors and windows are locked and secure.

Avoid accidental indicators about your whereabouts, such as posting when you will or won't be home on social media or allowing packages to collect in front of your door.

Acting on a 911 call around noon today, police responded swiftly and detained and questioned a student who had walked into the Classroom I building wearing a chest strap containing dozens of live shotgun shells, as well as a dark jacket.

The student was not carrying a weapon and said he had dressed up as the Terminator in advance of Halloween.

Stay Safe This Hurricane Season

Posted October 11, 2018

UCF's thoughts and wishes for safety are with the communities impacted by Hurricane Michael.

We know that many of our Knights have close ties to north Florida, and the university has extended its resources and support to those most impacted.

Hurricane Michael has created hazardous conditions in Tallahassee and across the Panhandle. At this time it is not safe to travel to that area.  If you must travel to north, visit https://fl511.com for current road closures and other roadway safety information.
